Health IT and Technical Roles

Roles involving information technology, data, and systems support for healthcare operations. As healthcare organizations adopt advanced software (EHR systems, billing platforms, telehealth tech), they increasingly outsource certain IT functions to ensure 24/7 support and cost efficiency (Healthcare BPO: Services, Overview And Best Practices). Amvik can provide talent for the following IT/technical roles:

EHR Support Specialist

Provides technical support and maintenance for Electronic Health Record systems (e.g. Epic, Cerner). Tasks include user account setup, data entry or migration, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data integrity (Healthcare BPO: Services, Overview And Best Practices). This role helps clients keep their health IT systems running smoothly.

Healthcare Data Analyst

Analyzes healthcare data (such as patient outcomes, revenue cycle metrics, or operational KPIs) to provide insights. Can support population health analytics, financial analysis, or quality improvement initiatives by mining data and generating reports.

Medical Reports/BI Analyst

Develops business intelligence reports and dashboards for healthcare management, e.g. monthly revenue cycle performance, clinical documentation trends, etc. Requires skills in tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI to turn raw data into actionable intelligence.

IT Support Technician (Healthcare)

Handles general IT helpdesk queries for healthcare staff or patients. For instance, supporting a hospital’s remote workforce with software installations, VPN access, or troubleshooting telehealth platform issues.

Integration Specialist (HL7 Interface Analyst)

Manages the integration of various health information systems (ensuring that EHRs, billing systems, lab systems, etc., communicate correctly via HL7/FHIR interfaces). This is a more specialized role for advanced IT outsourcing, ensuring data flows seamlessly between systems.

Telehealth Technology Coordinator

Supports the setup and maintenance of telehealth services (video consultation platforms, remote monitoring devices).
They assist clinicians and patients in using the technology, schedule virtual
appointments, and ensure compliance with security protocols.

Database Administrator (Healthcare)

Manages databases containing sensitive patient and financial data, maintaining performance, backups, and security. (This role might be offered in niche cases where a client outsources part of their IT infrastructure management).
